Police Seeking Two Suspects in Oasis Bar Robbery

There was a robbery in the city and police are looking for two suspects. It happened around three o’clock on Saturday afternoon at the Oasis Bar on the Philip Goldson Highway.  Police say that a Bowen and Bowen truck was making a delivery when two armed men robbed them. The thieves made off with monies from Bowen and Bowen, as well as cash from the establishment. But the robbers didn’t stop there because they also robbed the Bowen employees of their cell phones, personal documents and a small quantity of cash they were carrying. Here is Superintendent Alejandro Cowo:

Supt. Alejandro Cowo, O.C., C.I.B., Eastern Division

“Police responded to a robbery at Oasis Bar located on the Philip Goldson Highway where they spoke to a delivery truck driver for Bowen & Bowen, who reported that whilst doing a delivery at that location they were held up at gunpoint by two male persons and stolen from them that day was the daily sales and also a small amount of cash from the owner or the worker from inside Oasis Bar. Police have since been looking for two male persons who can assist us in this investigation.”

“What do investigators make of what may have transpired there?”

Supt. Alejandro Cowo

“We have interviewed the three persons who were in the truck along with other person and so far there is nothing to indicate to us that is an inside job as what you are suggesting.”

Police say that while Bowen and Bowen trucks would sometimes use police services when conducting some delivery runs, that wasn’t the case on Saturday so they were unaccompanied. Police also notes that the establishment doesn’t have a security guard, but they are using surveillance footage to assist with the investigation.
