Police Say Dylon Flowers is Released Pending Investigation
On Friday we told you that forty-year-old Dylon Flowers was released from police detention pending further investigation. Today Superintendent of Police Alejandro Cowo confirmed this to say that the D.P.P.’s office is awaiting the post-mortem results of fifty-six-year-old Roy Gabourel. Flowers shot and killed his brother-in-law Roy Gabourel on his property in Burrell Boom Village on Thursday morning. Gabourel was the husband of Flowers’ sister, Denise Gabourel. The couple was reportedly engaged in a domestic Denise called her bother for help and that’s when he met Gabourel wielding a machete. Flowers reportedly fired a warning shot, but Gabourel charged at him and that’s when he fired the fatal shots. Here’s more from Cowo.
Supt. Alejandro Cowo, O.C., C.I.B., Eastern Division
“Reference to the shooting that occurred in Burrell Boom, police managed to compile a file and that file was sent to the DPP office. They had recommended that we need to get a doctor’s report as to the post mortem, so we are awaiting that report so that they can make decision if any charges can be levied against the person in custody. The person in custody had to be released because of the directive that was given to us.”

“Sir, the paper from the doctor – the medical document when will that be ready?”
Supt. Alejandro Cowo
“Yes, a post-mortem examination was concluded where the doctor arrived at certain conclusion, but in order for the D.P.P.’s office to make a decision, they need to get certain information from the doctor and that is what we are waiting for before any charges are levied if they indicate so.”
