More Belizeans Come Home!

Marvin Manzanero

The phased repatriation process continued today and so far two hundred and sixty-four Belizeans have been brought home. Two groups arrived today at the P.G.I.A., one from the U.S. and the first from El Salvador. A total of nine hundred and seventy three have applied and eight hundred and eleven of those applicants have been approved. Here’s more from Doctor Marvin Manzanero Director of Health Services.

“United Airlines has confirmed that they will have the Friday flight for the month of July. So, we anticipate that Belizeans will be coming back on those flights. We also have another flight coming in today from El Salvador and that is bringing Belizeans who have been trapped in El Salvador. The United Airlines should have landed by now and the flight coming from El Salvador should be landing in the next half an hour or so. So depending on the amount of persons who show up and are swabbed we may have to do another testing sample on Monday. I am saying this because the number fluctuates. We were initially told that it was fifty-plus persons that were coming on the flight and then it went down to forty and it seems that now it will be less than twenty Belizeans coming in from Houston. The one from El Salvador we had been told initially it would be eighteen persons arriving on that flight.”
