No Charges Yet in Libertad Fatal Accident

Police says that the file for the fatal accident in Libertad Village that happened last Wednesday is with the D.P.P. for further directives. According to ACP Joseph Myvett, the police are also still actively gathering information and the necessary documents to complete the file.  Ten-year-old Steven Torres was riding his bike last Wednesday when he was knocked down and killed by a butane truck. The truck was being driven by San Joaquin resident, Yuri Lucas.

“I know that there is an ongoing investigation and the driver was detained. A statement was recorded from him in the presence of his attorney. Several assignments needed to be completed by the police before that investigation is submitted to the D.P.P. for her directive. We know that the police have been in communication with the D.P.P.’s representatives and certain directives were given where the police is dealing with in compliance.”

 

Steven was a standard three student of Libertad Methodist School.
