Did Cops Steal $6K During House Search?

Chester Williams

A woman in Cotton Tree Village is accusing police officers of stealing six thousand dollars from her home. As many as eighteen law enforcement officers reportedly conducted a search at the residence on Wednesday, June twentieth. The homeowner, Maude Blancaneux, reported that she wasn’t at home when the cops breached her front door and raided her home. According to reports, surveillance footage shows the officers covering the cameras with a cloth once they were inside the residence.  It was sometime during that search when the officers allegedly stole the monies. Today Commissioner Chester Williams was asked about the allegation made against his officers. Here’s what he had to say:

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

“I have tasked Mr. Sutherland from the Professional Standards Branch to look at the complaint and from what he briefed me this morning, the lady is not forthcoming. She is alleging that she took the DVR or NVR to Plus TV and I don’t know what you all did to it and when she got back home she had to reset and lost the video. Now, I don’t know. I have since asked Mr. Sutherland to go to Plus TV to see if you all have a copy of the video and if you do, then we are going to see how that will be able to assist the investigation with a view to determine what, if any, thing occurred at the home. So, it is a matter that the PSB is still looking at and if it is that the officers did go to the house and stole monies from there, then the officers will be dealt with. But we have to be objective and look at it in its entirety before we make that determination.”

“Sir, so you haven’t seen that video footage?”

Chester Williams

“No. No.”
