Mother & 2 Children Stabbed in O.W.

Esau Ramirez Lopez

A mother and her two children were stabbed in their home on Friday night around eight-forty-five. The man who did the stabbing is identified as Guatemalan national Esau Ramirez Lopez. He is the woman’s ex-common-law husband. Orange Walk Police were called out to the Northern Regional Hospital on Friday night.

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch

“They observed thirty-six-year-old Rebecca Munoz, nineteen-year-old Diana Munoz and fifteen-year-old Adrian Munoz, all of San Jose Village with apparent stab wounds. What the police know so far is that they were at home when Rebecca was approached with her ex-common-law husband and in the process while her children attempted to intervene both also received stab wounds. They were all treated and released from the Northern Regional Hospital. Police are seeking Esau Ramirez Lopez, a Guatemalan national, pending this investigation.”

“Do you know the nature of whatever dispute they may have had that led to the stabbing?”

ACP Joseph Myvett

“It is my understanding that they have been separated for some time now, I believe for the better part of the year. So, he isn’t living at that home where he visited them that day.”

“Is there any reason offered as to why he showed up?”

ACP Joseph Myvett

“No. We don’t know that and we also checked and there are no recorded domestic reports in relation to any previous incidents.”
