Andrea Polanco, Reporting
Police were called out to the scene of a road traffic accident just before seven-thirty this morning at mile thirteen-and-a-quarter on the Philip Goldson Highway. On the scene, white Volkswagen Jetta Car is on the left hand side of the highway with damages to the front and the driver’s door. The second vehicle is a brown in color Honda facing the direction of Sandhill Village. That Honda, as you can see in the video, is extensively damaged to the front, including the front passenger’s side.
Initial information to authorities says that the Honda SUV was driving from Ladyville in the direction of Sandhill when the vehicle experienced a blowout at miles thirteen-and-a-quarter. This caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle and veer into the other lane when it slammed into the car that was travelling in the opposite direction, towards Belize City.
The white car was being driven by thirty-year-old Larissa Frazer-Jones of Burrell Boom. Raymond Tillett, Rhonda Skyers, and twenty-eight-year-old Vanessa Frazer were passengers in the car. The SUV was being driven by sixty-nine-year-old Graham Marsden of a Los Lagos address. Travelling along with Marsden at the time was forty-seven-year-old Lorna Jenkins.
Tillett and Skyers were taken to the hospital in a private vehicle. Larissa Frazer-Jones, Graham Marsden and Lorna Jenkins, who all complained of pain to the body, were later transported by BERT ambulance for medical attention. Around eleven today the two vehicles involved in the accident were removed from the scene. Reporting for News Five, I’m Andrea Polanco.
