Fire Destroys a Mobile Home!

There was another fire in the city; this one happened after eleven on Saturday night on Kut Avenue. Fire officials say the fire wiped out a mobile home where a man was living part-time. Station Supervisor of the National Fire Service, Kenneth Mortis tells us that they know exactly what caused this fire.

Kenneth Mortis, Station Supervisor,   National Fire Service

“When we arrived on the location we observed the remains of an abandoned trailer home on fire. As per normal, the fire fighting team got into operation in bringing this fire under control before total extinguishment after which we learned that the abandoned trailer was being occupied on a part-time basis by forty-year-old Kareem Anderson. When we tried to locate Mr. Anderson to have a word with him, to date we haven’t found him and haven’t had any conversation as to what the status regarding himself and the trailer that he occupied. We can confirm, however, that the fire started as the result of an open dump garbage fire so to speak that eventually consumed the trailer and the contents inside.”

“Where was that garbage fire?”

“Right next to the trailer on the same property.”

“So, it could have been someone from the community who set that on fire?”

Kenneth Mortis

“It could have been. I mean looking at the hours of when that fire took place; I do not see any reason to believe that the fire started mysteriously. Somebody definitely had to have started it; whether it was for burning purposes; clearing purposes. But whatever the reason, the final outcome is the fact that the trailer officially burnt down and is now deemed unliveable.”
