Attorney Says There is Political Interference

Wendy Auxillou

According to Attorney Wendy Auxillou, the delay in serving Chi with the stop order is political.  She claims that because Chi is politically connected, the process is sluggish.

Hipolito Novelo

“Why do you believe there is a delay?”

Wendy Auxillou, Attorney

“Well I think it is political interference. I have heard clearly all the parties say, that I have spoken with, in particular the technical manager that there is political interference. They have to have a meeting with the mayor in San Pedro, the area representative Minister Heredia. They are collaborating amongst themselves how to deal with this issue. it is clear to me that it is just delayed tactics  so they don’t have to serve him because from what I understand from Mister Usher who is the technical manager of the San Pedro Building Unit that Mr. Chi is stating that he is allowed to build there, that he applied for permission to survey because Mister Heredia gave him permission to do that but I would  like to say that Minister Heredia is the Minister of Tourism. He has no authority to give anybody permission to survey anything or to build anywhere or to survey anything. That comes from the Minister of Lands.”

Hipolito Novelo

“But that would be hearsay, allegations against the minister.”

Wendy Auxillou

“Well it is just hearsay. It is just allegations for sure but that was what was reported to me directly by Mister Usher who is the technical advisor.”
