Casinos, Bars, Rum Shops Will Not Open!

Shifting to some of the restrictions that have been relaxed for restaurants… Those open air restaurants will be allowed to accommodate diners. But those persons will be limited to ten per table and must be on reservation basis only. All other restaurants must continue to operate with take-out and delivery service. And if you are wondering if you will see your favorite taco vendor on the street side, the AG says that remains a strong no. Those vendors must continue to operate from a private location. But what’s the status on rum shops, casinos and bar?

Michael Peyrefitte, Attorney General

“Street vendors and food trucks are still out. I know exactly what you the get to. Street vendors and tacos sellers are on the street – they are in a public place. An open air restaurant is in a defined area, a defined property off the street. So, even though you might have an open air restaurant, it is not on public property and it is prepared on some type of controlled environment not in the open air, for the most part. But we said it the last time and continue to say it, you can prepare your tacos and bbq on private property and then just do takeout and delivery and you are good to go.  Discotheque, bars, rum shops remain closed. Gymnasiums, sporting complex – closed! There has been a push for gyms but the national oversight committee said it is important for those to remain closed. Casino and gambling establishments are closed! Still no boledo!”

And as a reminder, daycare centers; child care centers; nurseries and other similar place of business remain closed.
