Best Bake Bakery robbed after three months

Story PictureThe Best Bake Bakery opened only three months ago on Western Avenue in Belize City and already it has been hit by robbers who made off with over four hundred dollars when they held up the bakery. Owner of the recently opened bakery, Zebedee Peterson Junior told News Five that the incident occurred around two last Thursday afternoon. One of Peterson’s teenaged sons was inside the business when three men entered. One pointed a gun at him while the other two jumped over the counter and stole the money. In the robbery one of the youths hits head on an outlet. Peterson witnessed the robbery unfold and ran inside but was held up at gunpoint. The culprits fled in a white pickup truck which was parked nearby and Peterson got in his van and followed in hot pursuit. He caught up with the escaping vehicle at the corner of La Croix and Police Streets. But one of the occupants got out and started shooting at his van, damaging the windshield and the head lamp. Luckily, he was not harmed, the chase was abandoned and the crooks escaped with the loot. Peterson told News Five that he is investing in major security features that he hopes will deter similar incidents in the future.
