K.H.M.H.A. Workers Union Demand Investigation for “Breach of Protocols’

The Ministry of Health of Health over the weekend said that personnel at the K.H.M.H. who were exposed to patient ten have tested negative for COVID-19. But the K.H.M.H.A. Workers Union is condemning the manner in which the K.H.M.H. Administration has compromised the safety and well-being of the frontline workers. The Union says certain areas of the hospital are now compromised due to direct exposure; these include Accident and Emergency and the Intensive Care Unit. The union is agitating for the immediate and complete closure of the I.C.U. unit and that in-patients be relocated elsewhere for intensive care management. Vice President Andrew Baird says that the PM agreed that an investigation into the breach of protocols needs to be commissioned and persons found responsible to be held accountable.

“We also presented to the Prime Minister that an investigation must be done to the admission of patient ten to Karl Heusner and then on to the other ICU where other patients were possibly exposed and staff of Karl Heusner were exposed. Basically almost the staff of the ICU will have to be quarantined including some from the emergency department. We point out that an investigation ought to be done based on what we presented and there must have been breaches of protocols during the admission of this patient.”
