Opposition Leader John Briceño, who is the co-chair of the National Oversight Committee, says that the ministry made a mistake by refusing the test kits from SICA.  Briceño says that he is at a loss for words as to why Belize would not accept the items, especially since that specific equipment along with viral swabs are difficult to obtain at the moment.

“Again, I am lost at words that we would not accept a donation for test kits that we can use. I don’t have the necessary technical expertise to say whether it is a system that can work or not but if it is a different system then let’s get the equipment that can work with it. I don’t think it is a big deal. The point is that we could be getting at this time thousands upon thousands of test kits.”
