Dr. Manzanero Says Patients 6, 7 Stable

Mapping and testing of other persons infected by the virus continues by the Ministry of Health.  On ‘Ask the Experts’ today, Director of Health Services, Doctor Marvin Manzanero provided an update on patients six and seven and shared that the test results for patients one and two are due tonight or early Thursday morning. Doctor Manzanero says that the primary contacts, which include family members of patients six and seven, have turned out to be negative for the novel coronavirus. Patient six remains in self-isolation in Cayo and patient seven remains hospitalized at the K.H.M.H.   Both patients, according to Doctor Manzanero, are considered stable.

“None of the immediate family members or primary contacts as you would called them or close contacts of patients six and seven turned out to be positive for SARS COVID two- the disease we now know as COVID-19. Nonetheless these family members will have to wait out the quarantine period wherever they are because none of them are tested positive. The patients, one and two were swabbed yesterday those samples will go in today for testing. So we should have results throughout the course of the night into the early hours of the morning. Patient number seven, we checked up on him. He is not intubated. He has not required intubation. So they are both considered to be stable for now, being managed at two different facilities. We know already we had given the update of all the other patients being managed in quarantine area or being kept in isolation at home. Tomorrow we should know the result of patients one and two. They would have to have two negatives test before we can declare them to have gone through the process and considered to be recovered.”
