To Date, 3 Cases of COVID-19 in Belize

As the one-month national curfew goes into effect at eight o’clock tonight, the good news is that there are no new addition cases of COVID-19.  The most recent samples carried out by the Ministry of Health, show that the number of cases remains at three, though the next ten days are critical. All three infected persons are on the way to recovery. According to health officials, the last case, which involves a Belize City resident, is recovering and so are the mother and daughter from San Pedro.  Figures shared by the Ministry of Health show that one hundred and fifteen persons were screened for the virus. In Belize City, sixty-two persons were screened with seven persons ‘under investigation.’  In Cayo, twenty-seven persons were screened; five are also ‘under investigation.’ In Corozal, nine persons were swabbed and three are ‘under investigation,’ while in Orange Walk, five persons were tested and five are ‘under investigation.’ In Stann Creek, health officials screened eight persons and two are ‘under investigation,’ while four were screened in the Toledo District and three are ‘under investigaiton.’
