Police Shoot Burglar in the Foot!

Forty-one-year-old Kenrick Reneau was shot in the foot this morning. The resident of Consuelo Street was shot by police when he attempted to flee the scene of an attempted burglary. Reneau reportedly tried to break into Qin’s Shop on Mahogany Street in Belize City this morning sometime around three. The owners of the business were woken up by sounds of the intruder breaking into their store. When the businessman went to make checks he realized someone was inside his storeroom and he called the cops. Police responded to the scene quickly and Reneau was apprehended in the area. Reports are that Reneau attempted to assault one of the cops with a tool. The cop reportedly warned Reneau, but he kept advancing on the lawman, who then fired shots, one of which hit Reneau in his right foot. He was taken to the K.H.M.H. for treatment and is expected to be charged. Police also apprehended a second person in the area believed to have been involved in the attempted burglary.
