Reydarius Sho is Hacked to Death in the South

Since the round-up of gang members in Belize City, the gun violence has subsided.  But there was a murder recorded over the weekend in southern Belize. Around midday on March twenty-first, the body of a resident from Bladen Village in the Toledo District was discovered near the Swasey Bridge between miles forty-five and forty-six on the Southern Highway. Reydarius Sho had been hacked to death after he was last seen socializing with friends in Bella Vista Village. Sho has had several run-ins with the law and today, Superintendent Alejandro Cowo told the media that his murder is believed to be as a result of a previous conflict, in which the deceased was involved.

“Independence Police visited an area near the Swasey Bridge where in a drain they observed the motionless body of a male person with apparent chop wounds to the body. The person was identified as that of Reydarius Sho, a twenty-four years Belizean of a Bladen Village address. What police gathered so far is that Mister Sho had left from the village early in the morning and had went to Bella Vista to do some errands. Whilst at Bella Vista, he was seen socializing with a group of friends and thereafter he was found at that drain with the apparent chop wounds.”

“What is the investigation showing so far?”

Supt. Alejandro Cowo

“The information is that they believe that it is because of an ongoing dispute that happened sometime ago in that same village, which involved Mister Sho as one of the persons.”

“Now has anyone been detained?”

Supt. Alejandro Cowo

“Not at this moment.”

“Sir, the victim – has this person been someone police have had to interact with in any kind of way as a complainant or someone in conflict with the law?”

Supt. Alejandro Cowo

“Yes, police have dealt with Mister Sho several times, hence the reason I am telling you it is because of a dispute that happened there previously.”
