Measured Progress in Solving Homicides Involving Two Infants

Investigators are closer to making arrests in at least three of the murders that occurred earlier this week.  According to Commissioner Williams, they have made significant inroads in cracking the cases during which two minors, Kia Herbert and Dominic Rhamdas, were senselessly shot and killed inside their homes while they slumbered.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

“We are very optimistic, as Mr. Cowo has said, with the murder of the three-year-old on Antelope Street Extension; we’re also working with the other murder of the minor in the King’s Park area.  We have gathered some useful information but we’re still trying to get more, but hopefully with the assistance of the public, we’ll be able to make an arrest where that murder is concerned as well.  There are two other murders that we believe that are very close to be solved and the investigators will continue to push with a view to see how we can solve those cases.  But at the end of the day, as I have said before, that for us to succeed or to achieve what we really want to achieve, we must have that cooperation from the public and we will continue to ask the public for their support to be able to help us locate these individuals.  Do not allow these gang members to move into your area and use your area as their safe haven because while they might use it now as a safe haven, eventually they are going to make your area become as dangerous as they had made certain areas of Belize City.  So give us the information as to where they are, let us go in and root them out.  We know where many of them have fled to and we have gone in and we have rooted them out, but we want to root out more.  So work with us, give us the information and we are going to do the rest from there.”
