Bizarre Robbery-Kidnapping Incident in San Narciso

A man was robbed, tied up and dumped in a river, but he survived the ordeal. Police say that they have two of the men responsible for the crime.  San Narciso resident told Corozal police that five persons attacked him on the morning of March twelfth and after the criminals got what they wanted, they threw him into a river and left him for dead.  Senior Superintendent Hilberto Romero tells us more.

“Pasciano Queme, fifty-one-year-old Belizean of San Narciso village, reported that on Wednesday around nine a.m., he was in an area about seven and a half miles north of San Narciso Village, when he was approached by five male persons who tied him up and robbed him of his cell-phone of personal belongings. Thereafter, the male persons tied him and placed him in a dorey and he was taken to the river where he was thrown into the water. The complainant report that he managed to keep his head afloat and thereafter someone came along and rescued him. Police conducted an investigation and since then have charged two persons Jose Chan and Aderi Chan for the crimes of robbery, kidnapping and harm.”

“Is it a situation that he was a victim of chance or did these persons specifically targeted him?”

“Yes. That is what it appears to be because he was in the area setting bait as he reported he would be coming back to the area to hunt.”

“Sir, these men charged, are they from the village?”

“Yes they are from that village.”

“Five persons – two charged – are you looking for the other three and do you know who they are?”

“Yes we are looking for the other three others. We have an idea who they are and we are looking for them.”
