Opposition Walks Out Before Budget Presentation

Amid the back and forth over whether the no-confidence motion should have been debated prior to the presentation of the 2020 Budget, the Opposition decided that it would walk out of the House of Representatives.  They did so collectively shortly after Prime Minister Barrow, Minister of Finance, rose to introduce the upcoming budget for the allocation of government resources.

John Briceño, Leader of the Opposition

“Madame Speaker, I will tell you that we are going to leave so he can do his illegal reading and when he is finished with this charade we are going to come back.  Let him read by himself amd we will come back afterward.  Thank you Madame Speaker… [Walk out].”
