A Target on the Barber’s Back?

Police say that John Crawford was shot a few weeks ago and a second attempt was made on his life on Tuesday afternoon sometime around four. The barber was inside his business place when a man fired shots at him, one of which caught him in the face. Crawford is now recuperating, but police say they have still not been able to determine a motive for the attacks on his life. Here’s more with Superintendent Alejandro Cowo.

Supt. Alejandro Cowo, O.C., C.I.B., Eastern Division

“Police responded to shots fired on Zericote Street and as a result they observed fifty-two-year-old John Crawford with apparent gunshot wounds to his body. What we understand is that Mr. Crawford was inside his barbershop when a male person approached the yard and from outside fired shots inside the barbershop which caused the injuries to Mr. Crawford. So far, one person was detained and is still presently in custody.”

“Do we know why Mr. Crawford was targeted?”

Supt. Alejandro Cowo

“We are trying to establish the motive there because we know that Mr. Crawford was a victim about two or three weeks ago while he was the same barbershop and somebody had attempted on his life where several shots were fired and the building was damaged. We are trying to ascertain whether it was the same person that was in the previous shooting and in this other one that happened on Tuesday.”
