Arturo Tux Vasquez, C.E.O. Port of Belize Ltd.

“We have had quite a number of hours of discussion of what are the possibilities of all of this getting back to normal. Conversations have been had and we came to a few points of agreement which of course the union has gone back to its membership to see if that are acceptable. With that in mind there is not much what we have agreed to that I can share.”

“In your opinion is there a de-escalation of tensions between the Port and the CWU?”

Arturo Tux Vasquez

“I would think so. I think these conversations were good. I think a bit of de-escalation, as you call it, has been there. However the issue of whether there were on strike or not is clearly something that is open for determination because I can tell you at this point I am not until they come back to us if they will be going back to work or not.”
