P.U.P. Says: Fire John Saldivar, Call Elections Now

This morning, the People’s United Party issued its release on the convention results. It makes the point that new Leader of the United Democratic Party was elected with only three hundred and forty-two votes and that he took the oath of office as the new leader of the United Democratic Party. The P.U.P. states that by section thirty-seven of the Belize Constitution, Dean Barrow no longer qualifies to be Prime Minister of Belize and should resign immediately, in disgrace. The P.U.P. also states that Saldivar is the weakest political leader Belize has ever seen. He assumes leadership with a reputation defined by crime and corruption.  That release was followed by another. On the matter of the revelations in the Utah Court says that while the U.D.P.’s woes are their own, and they will face the wrath of the Belizean people in due course, the People’s United Party understands that Saldivar’s appointment will not only affect the U.D.P., but the entire nation. Belize has been ridiculed for too long because of the stink of corruption under this U.D.P.   The P.U.P. calls on the Prime Minister to fire John Saldivar, as he promised on record to do if there was evidence of Saldivar being bribed.
