Closing Arguments Submitted for Rape Case

In the court, the Prosecution and the Defense in the rape trial of Ervin Pitts, wrapped up this evening during their closing arguments before Supreme Court Justice Colin Williams.  A jury of six women and three men will decide Pitts’ fate. Pitts is accused of forcing a mother of three of performing oral sex on him early on the morning of April second, 2016, after they met up at a night club in Belize City.  She alleges that Pitts offered to drop her and others who were at her home, but that after dropping off the others and while heading to her house, he instead drove to his house.  When he got there, however, he left her in the vehicle for several minutes and when she decided to go see if he was alright, he attacked her in the yard and forced her into his house.  She alleges that he choked her and forced her to perform oral sex on him and then took her home and told her to not mention it to anyone.   The case was presented Crown Counsel Reese Cattouse, while Defense Attorney is Andrew Bennett.
