Choice Bank Limited Gets a New Liquidator

Julian Murillo

Julian Murillo is the new liquidator for Choice Bank Limited. On Wednesday the Central Bank of Belize announced Murillo’s appointment and if the name sounds familiar, that’s because Murillo is the current liquidator for Atlantic International Bank Limited (A.I.B.L.).  A Central Bank release states that Murillo will take up the post because the current liquidator Kareem Michael’s six-month term ends on January nineteenth. Describing Murillo’s credentials, the bank says that he has extensive banking experience as a senior executive in Belize, the United Kingdom, and the Caribbean where he has excelled at various leadership positions.  The release says, “Now that both liquidations, A.I.B.L. and C.B.L., are in the final stage, and in the interest of optimizing both financial and human resources, the Central Bank’s Board of Directors has decided to have Mr. Murillo complete the liquidation of C.B.L. while he continues with the liquidation of A.I.B.L.”  Kareem Michael, the outgoing Liquidator, will return to the post of Deputy Governor for Research, Financial Supervision and Compliance at the Central Bank of Belize.
