Will Others Be Charged for Densmore Bowman’s Murder?

On December thirty-first, Hildebrandt Codd was charged and arraigned for the murder of Densmore Bowman. Bowman’s decomposing body was discovered on December sixteenth, about two and half weeks after he was reported missing. He was last seen alive on November twenty-ninth, socializing at an establishment in Roaring Creek Village; Bowman later got into a car along with two other persons, one of whom is believed to be Codd, a thirty-three-year-old resident of Gibnut Street in Belize City.  Police and the family believe that Bowman was murdered by someone he knew, but did the accused murderer act alone? Senior Superintendent Hilberto Romero told the media that as the investigation continues, others may be charged.

Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero, Deputy Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch

“Based on the investigation that was conducted, sufficient evidence was gathered and this person was charged. You know people move around and sometimes they are in Belize City and sometimes they are at the districts.”

“Sir, it is your understanding that they were friends?”

Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero

“This is a person that we believe the deceased knew yes.”

Duane Moody

“Now sir, based on the evidence that police had gathered, I believe there is surveillance footage that points to two persons getting into a vehicle along with Mister Bowman when he disappeared, but only one person was charged. We know for a fact that that second person was also detained, but has not been charged. Could you tell us why no charges have been levied on that person?”

Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero

“The evidence at this time was sufficient to charge this one person and this one person has been charged. The investigation is still ongoing; if anyone else needs to be charged, that will be done thereafter.”
