Home Invasion Reported in San Jose Succotz

ACP Joseph Myvett

Police in the Cayo District are investigating a scary home invasion which occurred on Saturday night during which another vehicle was stolen. Thirty-six-year-old Alvin Chi was enjoying a peaceful night with his family in the village of San Jose Succotz when three masked men gained entrance inside their house, terrorizing the Chi family. The assailants held the family at gunpoint and proceeded to steal Chi’s white Toyota pickup truck which they used as a getaway vehicle. Head, of the National Crimes Investigation Branch A.C.P. Joseph Myvett, says investigators believe the vehicle has also been taken across the border into Guatemala.

“While inside his home shortly before that time along with his family he was approached by three male Hispanic persons who were armed. As a result his home was searched by the individuals and the keys for his white Toyota pickup was taken. As a result his pickup was also taken. Police are investigating this matter. We are of the belief this vehicle was taken and was taken through Arenal into Guatemala.”
