Devon Tariq Lopez Reported Missing

Concern is growing over twenty-two-year-old Devon Tariq Lopez. Lopez has not been seen or heard from since a week ago, on Monday, December second. The authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the Belize City youth. Lopez left his home in Belama Phase Three to meet a friend after he received a call. He has yet to return home. Lopez has the tattoo “Darlene Whitfield” on the right side of his forehead, a second tattoo with the words “RIP Kenyon” on his left calf and a skull tattoo on his right hand. Superintendent Alejandro Cowo says investigators are working with the family to locate Lopez.

Supt. Alejandro Cowo

“We have been in communication with family members and friends trying to establish the whereabouts of Mr. Lopez but up to this time we have not received any other information. We encourage the general public that if you have anybody missing to inform the Police Department as quick as possible and do not take a long time to report the matter. This is the second person that we are receiving of a report missing that the family is taking almost a week to report the persons missing. It causes a lot of delay with the investigation and to try to speak to other person that can assist in the investigation. So we urge that if there is anybody that is missing that the people come forthwith and report it to us.”

Hipolito Novelo

“Where was the last time the person was last seen and has the family spoken of any beef or suspicions?”

Supt. Alejandro Cowo

“He was last seen in the Belama area. We are told by family members that he had received a call and he was to meet a friend that was the last time that they saw him in that area.”
