Prime Minister Dean Barrow Misspoke

Dean Barrow

After the house adjourned for committee meeting, PM Barrow consulted with Financial Secretary Joseph Waight and returned, apologizing for having misspoken.

Prime Minister Dean Barrow

“Accept that I misspoke. I just had a hurdle with the Financial Secretary. He had told me certain things on which I had relied, certain things that have now proven to be inaccurate. But I am the one that in fact uttered the inaccuracies in this House, so I must apologize for those inaccuracies and take responsibility for them. It now turns out Madam Speaker that those who were making the point about the concession agreement of twenty ninth July 1998 were perfectly correct. That agreement was in fact signed, now that I have been given it, by the U.D.P. government.”
