Richard Smith is Murdered in Hattieville

Richard Smith

In Hattieville, Belize District, a man was murdered on Friday evening. As investigations take place, police say that they don’t know much about the shooting death of twenty-six-year-old Richard Smith who was heading home when he was ambushed.  At this time, they only know that he was socializing right before he was killed. Andrea Polanco reports.

Gun shots rang out along this back road in Hattieville on Friday evening some-time around six-thirty; the target – twenty-six-year-old Richard Smith.  The Hattieville resident was walking through the Farmers Site when he was shot and killed.

Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero, Deputy Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch

“Investigation revealed that he was at a house in that area along with some friends. He left from area and thereafter several gunshots were heard and that is when he was found lying motionless in that particular area.”
