Accused Rapist Godman Nithyananda Could be Hiding in Belize

A developing scandal in India is being linked to Belize. In the centre of the storm is Godman Nithyananda, a spiritual leader, who fled India, even though his passport had expired, by using a fake Venezuelan passport.  The accused rapist, torturer and abductor is said to be hiding in this region and Indian media houses are reporting that Nithyananda travelled to Belize in 2018.  Republic TV is reporting that it had learnt that an honorary doctorate had allegedly been conferred upon Nithyananda by “Commonwealth University” in Belize.  Republic TV is also reporting that this may indicate that Nithyananda had allegedly travelled to Belize to accept the degree last year and that he applied for citizenship and asylum in Belize.  According to Republic TV, Belizean authorities reportedly had written to India’s Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of External Affairs to seek details of Nithyananda’s passport.  The Belize authorities are said to have been informed of the criminal charges Nithyananda faces in India.  Nithyananda has been under the radar since the first complaint was filed against him in 2010.  He faces three hundred and seventy-six rape allegations of rape, three hundred and seventy-seven of unnatural sex, and one hundred and fourteen criminal abetment charges. It is believed that he might be traveling between Belize and Ecuador. Here is a news clip from Republic TV.
