B.T.L.’s C.E.O. on the Way Forward

Recently appointed Chief Executive Officer for B.T.L., Ivan Tesecum highlighted the point that over the past ten years B.T.L. has invested more than five hundred million dollars. Tesecum says this was done to ensure the company’s viability to be well poised for the future in the changing telecom industry. Tesecum says that the company expects to see an increase in revenue by the next fiscal year.

“One of the things thought from a shareholder standpoint is that the dividends that were declared at twenty and a half cents were similar to last year. So a return of twelve point one percent. In terms of what declared as percentage of net income it was fifty-nine percent. Last year it was forty five percent. As well in terms of where we are going, it is important to note all the investment we have made. Part of that is to ensure the viability and the future of B.T.L.  One of them is definitely for our customers to use more data but on top of that we have to begin looking at new services on which the fiber can be delivered. So when we speak of the internet of thing, home automation, E-health, E tourism, digital learning platform, safe city all of these things are new revenue streams that we need to monetize the fiber network that we have delivered to ninety percent of the country.”

“Do you all expects that profits will rebound next year into the twenty plus million dollars range?”

Ivan Tesecum

“It will rebound not necessarily in this fiscal year but in the other one to come because right now we are in another fiscal year so by the time we move customers over, by the end of not this fiscal but next fiscal we should see it. So it won’t be necessarily this fiscal, but we see it forward looking after that.”
