Pablo Marin Says It’s the Corozal Bay Way

Pablo Marin

Hugo Patt’s entry into the race to fill the available posts is wholly endorsed by cabinet colleague Pablo Marin, who is also an area representative in Corozal Bay.  Marin was one of over twenty area representatives and standard bearers present at John Saldivar’s campaign launch on November third.  According to the Minister of Health, his support for Team Saldivar is an extension of his endorsement of Hugo Patt.  While he acknowledges that both leadership candidates possess the quality to steer the U.D.P. forward, he believes that Saldivar is easier to work with.

“We have our own minister from the north, Hugo Patt being on that slate and I think that once we endorse Hugo Patt we have to endorse the entire group.  I don’t think of splitting any votes in two directions, but as it is I always mention, both candidates are good, they have the capacity to lead, but as a person I believe that we can work along with John knowing now that we have our own person there as Hugo Patt on the same team.”

“Now what has it been like in terms of being able to approach the potential delegates to sell them this message that perhaps John is the better candidate as opposed to Patrick?”

Pablo Marin

“Well it’s easy because we have an idea, once we sit down as a group and discuss the matters, the different matters that everybody has on their mind and once the majority of the group decides, we go that way.  That’s how we do things in Corozal Bay.”

“Do you feel that there is some sort of tension in this whole competitive process?”

Pablo Marin

“I don’t think so.  When we go to cabinet we have a, we can chat good with the deputy prime minister.  I don’t see that, I don’t see that in the party.”
