Tracy Panton Ready to be 1st Deputy Leader of the U.D.P.

Tracy Panton

Panton was the first to have announced her bid for the first deputy leadership of the U.D.P.; Manuel Heredia Junior is also running for second deputy leader. Panton says she has national appeal as a woman on the ticket, but that all candidates are strong.

“One of the reasons I decided to take the stand that I took is because I was approached by members of our party and supporters of our party asking for me to give its consideration so I believe that…let me say this, I think it is very important. All the candidates that are running for the positions within the central executive are strong candidates, are candidates that can offer something to the table and bring something to the party. But we have a convention and then we also have a general election and I think that we need to put our strongest soldiers, our generals in place to win a fourth consecutive term. It is not an easy undertaking. And I think our delegates and our party faithful and our party supporters see that and recognize that. And so I believe that I am very much in the running for first deputy leader of the United Democratic Party.”
