#It’sAllAboutTheBase – Patrick Faber Targets Delegates

In political news, two weeks ago, the U.D.P.’s Belmopan Area Representative John Saldivar brought out thousands of supporters, including many of his political colleagues, for the launch of his leadership campaign. Saldivar is going up against the Deputy Party Leader Patrick Faber whose campaign launch did not match Saldivar’s numbers. But Faber is not fazed and is bouncing back and targeting the most important persons he needs to win the leadership race. Over the weekend, Faber treated some one hundred and fifty delegates to a one-day caye trip on a lavish catamaran. Pictures show Orange Walk East Area Representative Elodio Aragon Junior as part of the jolly crowd. On social media, Faber wrote, “Today’s one hundred and fifty delegates that joined us are supporters from the Belize and Orange Walk Districts alone!” As for the rift between Faber and his colleagues, Faber wrote, “There will be times when we’re upset with each other, and times when we don’t see eye to eye, but under my leadership, we will ALWAYS be able to be open and honest with each other, and keep our eyes set on the blue party, who are the true enemies of Belize’s development. Saldivar boasts the support of twenty-three standard-bearers, while Faber is now boasting the support of one hundred and fifty delegates.  He plans to host supporters from Corozal, Cayo, Stann Creek, and Toledo for a similar event.  The next U.D.P. leader will be chosen by five hundred and sixty delegates in February 2020 at the U.D.P. national convention.
