Circle R Robbed! Employee Tied Up by Thieves

The investigation into a brazen armed robbery in Belmopan led police across the Guatemalan border. Just before nine o’clock on Wednesday night, police were called out to the branch of the rice company, Circle R, along mile forty-five on the George Price Highway where two men reportedly held up and tied an employee and proceeded to escape in a cargo truck and a motorcycle. The thieves also stole personal items from the employee, Hector Alvarado. Police quickly tracked the cargo truck which was found in Melchor de Mencos, Guatemala. Senior Superintendent of Police Hilberto Romero says that two suspects are being sought.

“Police responded where they found Hector Alvarado who reported that he parked the company vehicle inside the compound and went to a room nearby. Shortly thereafter he heard knocks on the door. He opened the door and he was approached by a male person who pointed a firearm at him. The person proceeded to tie him up and Alvarado heard the sound of engines outside.  He managed to lose himself half an hour thereafter and then realized that a cargo truck and a motorcade were stolen from the compound. A report was made and police conducted an investigation and the cargo truck was recovered across the border in Melchor. Investigation into this matter continues.”
