Doctor Manzanero says that the Vector Control Unit is doing what it can to reduce and control the mosquito population and calls on the public to do their part.

“The numbers have not really spiked up again but that is something that we are monitoring on a weekly basis.”

“From what you’ve seen in terms of the figures compared to last year has there been an increase?”

Dr. Marvin Manzanero

“We had by I think may we had more cases than the total amount we had for the year 2018 so the numbers are much, much higher than last year’s.”

Hipolito Novelo

“So I would imagine that the Vector Control Team is doing much more than last year in terms of spraying and other efforts.”

Dr. Marvin Manzanero

“Yes we have had to go twice for supplementary budgets in terms of procuring insecticide, repellents, bed nets and hiring people part time to go and help with the spray. I know people have been telling me that we are not spraying enough but I not so sure about how much we are doing as a community in ensuring that we are doing our part. Spraying is never going to be enough and spraying is not going to be answer also for dengue. It is the only answer then.”
