1 Man Injured in a Second Shooting in Boom

Joseph Myvett

Within hours of the murder of Aaron Baptist, shots rang out once again in Burrell Boom, adjacent to where Baptist lived in the village. Kyle Pinkard was shot and is in a stable condition at the K.H.M.H.  Pinkard was inside his house when someone came knocking; he refused to open the door and that person then opened fire at the house. One of the bullets caught Pinkard and he was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment. While residents believe that the shooting was retaliatory, police would not confirm if the recent gun violence is as a result of a drug war in the village.

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch

“Shortly after 11:30 p.m., police had to return to Burrell Boom Village to the home of one Kyle Pinkard where police learnt that he was injured by a bullet to the body. What we know is that sometime after 11:30 or thereabouts, someone went to his home and knocked on the door and as a result of him refusing to open the door, the person shouted certain comments and then fired several shots in the building, one of which caught him.”

Andrea Polanco

“Is there any connection between Baptist’s murder and Mister Pinkard’s shooting?”

ACP Joseph Myvett

“At this point in time, we are looking at certain information, but this will not be divulged as it is a part of the investigation.”

Reporter

“Sir does Pinkard have any idea of who shot him?”

ACP Joseph Myvett

“At this point, no.”

Andrea Polanco

“The comments that were uttered, is that helpful any at all to police in terms of helping to identify the shooter?”

ACP Joseph Myvett

“It could have been. So we are following that. Officers are on the scene still at this point in time following up on that information.”
