Bruce Reneau’s Home Goes Up in Flames After He was Busted with .38 Revolver

On Friday morning, Belize City police visited the home of Bruce Reneau where they conducted a search of the property.  During the raid, they discovered three live rounds of ammunition, as well as Taurus brand thirty-eight revolver.  Reneau, as well as a female minor who was in his company, was detained pending investigation.  Several hours later, while in police custody, Reneau’s residence went up in flames.  Neighbours called the emergency hotline to report the house fire and by the time officers responded to the call they met personnel from the National Fire Service extinguishing the blaze.

“A search conducted at the home of Bruce Reneau.  On the first of November, sometime around ten a.m., police conducted a search of Bruce Reneau’s home on Iguana Street where during the search they discovered a thirty-eight revolver three, thirty-eight rounds of ammunition.  At the time he was accompanied by a female minor.  Both persons were arrested and escorted to the station where they have since been charged.  Later on, on the same first of November, sometime shortly after six p.m., police were again called to the said area to the residence of Bruce Reneau where they were informed that his residence was on fire.  Upon their arrival, they did observe that his residence was on fire and that the fire department was also present.  The building was partially destroyed by fire at that point in time.  In relation to this, police are looking at several leads in relation to this investigation relating to the fire, since no one was at home at the time of the fire.”
