Former Lands Minister Comments on Lots Sold by Belmopan CitCo

Earlier in the month, we reported on a hasty land transaction that raised several eyebrows. The Belmopan City Council de-reserved a large portion of land that had been designated for the expansion of the Queen Elizabeth the Second Boulevard. Twenty-eight residential lots were surveyed and sold off to new owners for a paltry sum. The price tag for a single residential lot is one thousand dollars. Documents show that two persons Kristy Lynn Hulse and Vanessa Hulse bought lots separately and the assertion is that these two individuals are close relatives of Minister Godwin Hulse.

“Absolutely no ‘pikney’ of mines. Not at all.”

“A lot of Hulse are there and all of the Hulse in the land are relatives but no close relative of mine. I heard the story that you heard. I wouldn’t know where the land is. I wouldn’t know anything about it at all.”

“The one day purchase and sale of the lots is that regular?”

Godwin Hulse

“I understand that it was the city council that sold the land. And I haven’t dealt into it at all but if you are talking about the process in one day. That could happen in one day. It’s not normal- it doesn’t always happen. It is a simple process when you sell private lands.”
