2 Camalote Residents Injured in Roaring Creek Accident

A resident from Camalote is in critical, but stable condition tonight at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital after he was severely injured during an accident on the George Price Highway. William Franco and Jose Gonzalez were on a motorcycle travelling to Roaring Creek when they collided head on into a pickup truck. Gonzalez was also injured, but he has been released from the hospital. Both were not wearing helmets. According to Gonzalez, speeding may have been a factor from the offending vehicle. News Five’s Duane Moody reports.

Two men survived a traffic accident on Monday night in Roaring Creek after the motorcycle they were riding on crashed into a pickup truck travelling in the opposite direction. William Franco and Jose Gonzalez were en route from Camalote Village to Chun’s Store in Roaring Creek; Franco was commanding the motorbike. As the duo cleared the pedestrian crossing, a pickup truck overtaking another vehicle came in their path. The motorcycle crashed head on with the pickup truck. The impact flung the men to the pavement. Jose Gonzalez, who rode on the back of the bike received injuries to his left leg, a cut to his head and abrasions to several parts of his body. He has since been treated and released from the Western Regional Hospital.
