Shyne Barrow Supports John Saldivar for U.D.P. Leadership

The U.D.P. Leadership convention is four months away and is to be held in February 2020 at the Civic Center. Deputy Prime Patrick Faber and Minister John Saldivar are the two contenders for leadership; no one else is expected to contest. Both have been campaigning across the country and say they are confident that they will emerge as the new leader. But for that to happen they must convince their colleagues and over four hundred delegates to vote for them. Prime Minister Dean Barrow said this week he had made up his mind on who to support, and while he would not share his choice, his son, U.D.P. Mesopotamia Standard Bearer Shyne Barrow told the media today in Belmopan who has his support.

“I was asked the question, who do I support to be the next leader of the United Democratic Party and I said John Saldivar.”

“You know I believe he is the way forward. I have had extensive discussion with him regarding the things that matter to me the most. You know, creating industries, employment, you know, several meaning full topics as to how we are going to go forward, how we are going to continue the tradition of the current Prime Minister but be innovative and creative, adopting to the current necessities of the land and you know he convinced me that his ideals align with mine.”
