Castro Voted in Favor of Write-Off

While Castro attempted to end the interview, the media pressed on the issue and challenged him on some facts including that he was part of the House Committee which reviewed the matter and voted in favour of the write-off.

“This particular one was under a UDP administration.”

Edmond Castro, U.D.P. Minister

“Yes but there are a lot of other write-offs. When it becomes uncollectable, by law, what will you do? Leave it on the books? There are some there that PUP household names got too who got write off. But it is not me to bring it up, you are journalists. The same ones who are making noise, they got write off too.”

Reporter

“Do you concede as the Deputy Prime Minister did that it has become an unfortunate incident or situation given the backlash?”

“We have already discussed this thing already, man.”

Hipolito Novelo

“Sir do you know whether or not the house committee discussed the extent in which the government or the Ministry of Finance did to recover these monies.”

Edmond Castro

“Yes but you could have gone to the meeting. It was a public meeting so how comes you did not go and ask a question.”

Hipolito Novelo

“You participated, you can answer the question.”

Edmond Castro

“No, but then it was a public meeting, everyone who wanted to share information or ask questions could have gone. So this one is dead.”
