Kraal road resident is charged for George Street shooting

A well-known Kraal Road resident, who is no stranger to police, picked up a second attempted murder charge today in court for Sunday morning’s shooting on George Street when two men were injured. Twenty-one-year-old Jason Horace Anderson, aka “Jason Williams”, the son of Jason “Soup” Williams was read six criminal and indictable offenses.   Anderson was arraigned this morning before Senior Magistrate, Aretha Ford for attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm and grievous harm upon shooting victims, Mark Phillips and Luquan Flowers. The shooting incident occurred on September eighth, 2019 on George Street, Belize City. Police say that Flowers and Phillips were reportedly at a house on George Street at around midday when a grey sports utility vehicle drove up from the direction of Racecourse Street. One of the occupants of the S.U.V. produced a firearm and opened fire, letting loose a barrage of bullets in the direction of the men. During the shooting, Flowers was injured in the right leg, while Phillips was injured in the lower part of the body. Anderson has another case of attempted murder pending before the lower court for which he was on bail when the latest shooting occurred. He, along with Reese Fitzgibbon, were arraigned jointly on January eighth, 2018 for two counts each of attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, wounding and dangerous harm upon Steve Findley and Tyrone Barcelona.
