More than three thousand cases of dengue detected countrywide

There is an update on the number of dengue cases detected in the country. The Office of the Director of Health Services states that the total number of cases countrywide is up at three thousand one hundred and fifteen. A break down shows that one thousand three hundred and forty five are suspected cases while one thousand seven hundred and seventy cases are confirmed. The Orange Walk District has the most number of cases, trailing behind are the Stann Creek and Cayo districts. The other districts are reporting lower numbers. According to the information, two point three percent of the total amount of cases is classified as severe. As rainfall increases, it is expected that the number of cases will go up so the Ministry is asking the public to be on the alert for Dengue and Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever. The public is asked to eliminate mosquito breeding sites, around homes.
