Coast Guard Officer Allegedly Attacks Woman

Coast Guard Officer Brian Orellano is tonight in trouble with the law. Orellano stands accused of hitting a woman with a handgun and firing the unlicensed firearm in public during the scary assault.  The incident happened this morning at around eight o’clock inside Christina Teul’s residence in the San Martin Area of Belmopan. Teul reported to the Crimes Investigation Branch that a furious Orellano appeared in front of her residence where the argument between both individuals ensued. Orellano reportedly had a dispute with Tuel’s brother on Sunday night over the illegal usage of electricity. According to the brother, Orellano broke his windshield. When the brother visited the Belmopan Police Station this morning to report the matter, Orellano paid Teul a visit to send a message, according to the family. The message led to him pulling out a firearm, hitting Teul with it and pointing it at her teenage son who attempted to defend his mother. Fearing that Orellano would seek further revenge, a family member told us off cameraman that during the struggle, Orellano allegedly choked Tuel while she was on the ground.

“I got a phone call from my nephew  this morning at around eight. He told me to hurry see his mom because this person Brian wanted to shoot at them and that he hit my sister on her head. I go frightened and I drove and I came to see her. My sister was bleeding and she looked frightened. I asked what happened and they told me that Brian wanted to shoot her for no reason. Later on, I got to understand that this Brian had an argument with my brother the night before. It looks like this person was so angry at my brother he wanted to take out his angriness and he reached this morning and he wanted to do my sister that. He wanted to shoot her. He got the gun and pointed at my sister to shoot her and told her that my brother see that this is a lesson, for my brother not to mess with him and that he is not afraid of anyone. He said that he would use my sister for my brother to see that. My sister got fifteen and didn’t know what to do. They started to argue and then Brian came into the yard and then he held my sister and knocked my sister on her head with the gunman. My sister shouted for her son because her son was in the house. He came out running and when he saw that his mother was struggling with Brian. My nephew says that Brian had his hand around my sister’s neck and so my nephew grabbed a stone to try to defend his mother. That is when this boy let go my sister and he turned to shoot my nephew. He pointed the gun at my nephew and shoot at my nephew. My nephew got frightened and he hid himself in the shop. From there he gone. My sister she is frightened. She doesn’t know what to do. She is afraid.”
