Did Faber’s Convention Draw Massive Outside Support?

Of the thirty-one constituencies across the country, only seven were represented at Faber’s endorsement convention leading some to believe that the Deputy Prime Minister may not have been able to shore up enough political support from his colleagues in the U.D.P.  While those numbers were put to him based on the four area representatives and three standard bearers in attendance, Faber disputed those figures, stating instead that a majority of the electoral districts were present for the rally.  Noticeably absent, however, was Faber’s campaign manager Mesopotamia Area Representative Michael Finnegan.  So, was the turnout of party bigwigs dismal?

“We see only seven constituencies represented here today.”

Patrick Faber, Area Representative, Collet

“Absolutely not.  Most of the constituencies are represented here today, so I don’t know where you get that from and I will tell you this as well, that in fact the UDP is well and we will continue to keep things together right up to that fourth victory and you will see, we will win.”

“But the PM is not here though.”

“The PM does not attend these conventions because there is clearly a division and he is not going to take sides like that.  So we did not expect him to attend here.  But I am pleased to see the former prime minister, the Right Honorable Manuel Esquivel here.”

“Neither your former campaign manager, Mr. Finnegan is not here.”

Patrick Faber

“I don’t know why he is not here, you will need to ask him.  But as far as I know, we enjoy that support and in fact the Mesopotamia people are here and the delegates are here.”

Reporter

“But at the end of the day there are only combined seven ministers and standard bearers here, combined.”

Patrick Faber

“I am sure that you were at Tracy Taegar’s convention as well.  Noh all ministers go da all convention.  This is the launch and the beginning of the work and it signals nothing other than the start of that work.”
