A fisherman is in trouble with the law for a stabbing incident at Caye Caulker

A fisherman is accused of an old stabbing incident on La Isla Carinosa and tonight he is spending his first night on remand at the Belize Central Prison. This morning, Norman Gill, was arraigned before Senior Magistrate, Aretha Ford on three criminal and indictable offenses in connection with the stabbing. Gill is facing charges of attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm and dangerous harm upon William Thomas. Senior Magistrate Ford informed Gill that in time a preliminary inquiry will be heard and if there is evidence to substantiate the charges, then his case will be committed to the Supreme Court for trial. The stabbing incident occurred on June thirteenth, 2019 on Caye Caulker in front of I & I Bar on Lousiano Reyes Street. Thomas had to be treated at the health centre for stab wounds to the left side of the neck and left arm.
