Fire Destroys House in Lord’s Bank Village

Around eight o’clock, a fire broke inside an elevated wooden house in Lord’s Bank Village on Sunday night. The home was occupied by an elderly person who escaped unhurt. The blaze spread quickly through the building, which could not be saved and by the time fire-fighters arrived on the scene, the building was gutted. Police are awaiting the results of an investigation by the National Fire Service to determine the cause of the fire. Superintendent Alejandro Cowo shared details.

“Just after eight p.m., Ladyville police visited number sixteen Lord’s Bank where they observed a three feet elevated board house engulfed in flames. What police gather so far is that the house was being taken care of by an age-able person when apparently the house was seen on fire. Fire department personnel arrived at the scene; however, the house was totally destroyed.  We are awaiting for the fire department personnel to do an inspection of the building to see what was the cause of the fire.”

The proprietor, Kimberly Betancourt has since informed police that the house and its contents were valued at thirty-seven thousand dollars.
