“Matches will be played all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday, starting early at eight-thirty a.m. and run through-out the day to five p.m., with matches running concurrently and consecutively on two courts. One court is for the women and one court for the men. Teams that are participating are all the Central American teams except Panama. They had to withdraw at the last moment due to financial constraints. So, all other Central American countries are participating; Belize with two men and one women’s team; Costa Rica with one men and two women’s team; El Salvador with one each; Guatemala with two each; Honduras with two men and one women and Nicaragua with two each.  The normal powerhouses are Nicaragua; Guatemala and Costa Rica.  Team preparation stated from last year. Thanks to the Belize Olympics Committee we had a Cuban coach come in and try and prepare the teams. Right after that we requested again if we could have a beach volleyball coach this time and we so had Coach Professor Juan Carlos Perdomo who joined us on February second. He started training immediately. His enthusiasm and knowledge for the game became apparent immediately and had an immediate effect on the improvement of our players.”
